Prayer for Vocations

Eternal Father, we thank you for the gift of Carmel. We ask you to continue to call forth men and women of fearless hearts to the Order of Discalced Carmelites. May they be like the prophet Elijah, full of zealous love for you. May Our Lady of Mount Carmel be their model, thay they may say "Yes" to your invitation to serve you and your Church. Inspire them to follow in the footsteps of St. Teresa and St. John of the Cross, seeking to pray always and everywhere in accord with the Rule of St. Albert. Amen

OCDS Description

“Members of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites are faithful members of the Church, called to live ‘in allegiance to Jesus Christ’ through ‘friendship with the One we know loves us’ and in service to the Church. Under the protection of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in the biblical tradition of the prophet Elijah and inspired by the teachings of St. Teresa of Jesus and St. John of the Cross, they seek to deepen their Christian commitment received in baptism.” (O.C.D.S. Constitutions I:3)
